On the 12th of December, 2022 I found this nest at La Selva Bio station. It was, ahem, a hive of activity and was clearly a work in progress. Some of the cells already contain eggs even though there is much work to do in order to create the finished nest. It looks as if the wasps are forming a protective circle around the nest while they are building it.
