Treehopper in the Membracidae family guarding her eggs. Note the tiny parasitoid wasp immediately in front of the hopper. She swiped it away shortly after I took this photo.

Cordyceps suspected, Ecuador. The twin spires are the fruiting body of this fungus which shrouds the fly.

This one could be a longhorn but the antennae don't look quite right.
Tigers are predatory beetles and extremely fast moving. I found this one in the morning when it was cool and he allowed me to get this shot. Unfortunately, he has some dew or rain blobs on him but sometimes you just have to take what you are given!

Another member of the Membracidae family. She is guarding her eggs against parasitizing wasps and predators.
The family is Vespidae and I suspect Agelaia as the genus.
Nothing really unusual about this nymph and I don't know the species. But the red bottomed antennae are very cool!

This hopper belongs to the 3000+ member Membracidae family. Her species may be Ennya chrysura. IDs on the many hopper variants are somewhat futile absent expert knowledge.

Beetle in family Scarabaeidae. Fairly large at about 1" or 25mm. Found on a rotting plantain. Unfortunately, he has tucked his antennae in while eating so I can't see them and I didn't notice when I took the picture. Little bastard.
Family Nymphalidae. I don't usually photograph butterflies and moths, but once in a while, I find one that is both beautiful and patient. This one was feeding on a banana. You can see her abdomen through the transparent lower panel of her wings.
Rain blobs. Do they ruin the photo or add context?
